STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Examine contrasting theories interpreting zoological phenomena by evaluating evidence in a scientific manner (includes information on evolution, development, ethology and ecology).
II. Discuss the criteria used in constructing animal phylogenies.
III. Assess the zoological evidence supporting contrasting theories associated with the major animal body plans.
IV. Evaluate contrasting views on vertebrate and arthropod phylogeny and classification.
V. Apply the zoological perspective to comprehension and enjoyment of the animal world.
