Course Description: | Focuses on the classification and identification of a variety of aquatic insects. Specifically, students will learn how to apply this knowledge to the fly selection process during fly fishing. Students will be introduced to the insect life cycle and environmental habitat of selected major family groups. Other aquatic organisms that are important food sources for trout such as crustacians, macroinvertebrates, and arachnids may be covered. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:

II. Demonstrate knowledge of the taxonomy of aquatic insects:
A. identify all aquatic insects to order on sight
