Course Description: | Focuses on theory and advanced techniques in all phases of hair styling to prepare the student for employment. Training is a combination of supervised salon (clinical) work and specialized classes. Includes student preparation for the State Board Licensing Examination relating to hairstyling. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Demonstrate free-forming blow-drying techniques.
II. Demonstrate a shadow wave and a finger wave.
III. Demonstrate styling the hair with the blow dryer, comb and brush.
IV. Perform a style using the curling iron.
V. Perform state board project in allotted time
VI. Perform all disinfection, sanitation and safety required when providing styling services.
