Course Description: | Introduces theory relevant to patron protection angles and degree and analysis of hair textures related to hair cutting. Covers proper use and care of hair cutting implements. Introduces basic hair cutting techniques using scissors, razor, clippers, and thinning shears. Training is provided in a classroom or lab setting with students training on mannequins or models. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. The learner will practice time management and work schedules.
II. The learner will calculate areas of various shapes.
III. The learner will practice proper disinfection and sanitation procedures.
IV. The learner will follow safety procedures.
V. The learner will inspect, test, adjust, repair or replace components on tools
and equipment including clippers, trimmers, combs, razors and other barber tools and equipment.
VI. The learner should be able to list sequential steps in completing a haircut.
