Course Description: | Offers laboratory/clinical requirement for students enrolled in EMS 238 and/or EMS 240. Students will participate in clinical rotations at local hospitals where they will apply the Advanced Life Support skills taught in the related didactic courses. Students must be enrolled in EMS 238 and/or EMS 240 when taking this course. Enrollment in this course must be approved by the EMS Program Coordinator and/or the Department Chair. |

STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. The student will refine his/her ability to perform a thorough patient assessment as an advanced life support provider and function effectively a member of an ambulance and/or fire department rescue crew.

II. Students will achieve specific skills competencies.
A. Successful IV placements
B. Respiratory Treatments
C. Intravenous drug administrations
D. Identified cardiac rhythms
E. Live birth observations
