STANDARD COMPETENCIES:
I. Upon completion of this course students shall demonstrate an understanding of advanced machining skills. Students in this course will consult with the instructor to select projects/tasks that will be completed to the satisfaction of the instructor. Given performance tests, the student will perform these tasks with a score of 75% or better:
A. Discuss the history of CNC development.
B. Explain the major types of CNC machinery.
C. Demonstrate basic shop math for CNC operations.
D. Explain basic machining processes related to CNC operations.
E. Demonstrate fundamentals of CNC machine set up and operations.
F. Discuss common types of work piece materials.
